General Research Methods Texts
In so far as there are many good research methods textbooks freely available online, it is not necessary to purchase a textbook for this course. Nevertheless, for each week of class, students should be generally familiar with the relevant sections of at least one of the following texts.

Alan Bryman 2012 Social Research Methods, 4th ed.

Lawrence Neuman 2014 Social Research Methods: Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches 7th ed.

If you prefer to purchase a textbook for the course, inexpensive copies of the 4th edition of Bryman’s text are available online through Amazon. The 5th edition (Dec 2015) is also available at greater cost.
